Safety / risks:

Participation in the Klausen Monument event is at the participants' own risk. The «Klausen Monument» event is only suitable for well-trained and experienced cyclists. Both the climb and the descent are demanding. Every participant is responsible for their own health and fitness. Every participant is aware that taking part involves risks and, in extreme cases, may result in damage to health, physical injury, permanent disability or death. Every participant who is involved in, causes or witnesses an accident is obliged to provide assistance, such as taking safety precautions, giving first aid and alerting the emergency services. The emergency number can be found on the safety boards at the start or in the safety notice (online at registration). The organiser has the right at any time to refuse participation in the «Klausen Monument» event to any person at its own discretion and without giving reasons.

Insurance

Insurance is the responsibility of the participants. Participants are responsible for ensuring that they are insured in such a way that any risks and/or accidents are covered by their insurance. The organiser and its cooperation partners decline all liability. By registering, participants confirm that they are sufficiently insured to cover any costs of medical treatment, first aid, transport, repatriation, hospital stays, etc. Participants assume full responsibility and liability for all costs arising in connection with training and/or participation in the event, including ambulance transport, hospital stays, medical care and treatment, and medical and pharmaceutical services.

Use of the route

Even though the road is closed, the Swiss Road Traffic Act applies, and oncoming traffic (bicycles, emergency vehicles, residents, agriculture, restaurants, etc.) must be expected at all times. Participants must observe the Swiss traffic rules at all times. Keep to the right; the safety line must not be crossed. Stop only at a place with good visibility and at the right-hand edge of the road. The instructions of the safety staff must be followed. Always treat all helpers and participants with respect. It is forbidden to throw waste of any kind (paper, plastic packaging, etc.) onto the road or into nature. Waste may only be disposed of in the containers provided.

The route may only be used with a valid registration.‍
